§ 01Build

Software built carefully, for small businesses in Kent.

Websites, web apps, automations and mobile apps. A small independent studio working with small businesses across Kent. Fixed prices, plain English, owned by you, looked after monthly.

§ 03How a project runs

Five steps, in plain English.

  1. 01

    Discovery

A free first call to talk through your idea, the constraints and what success looks like. By the end of it you will have a clear sense of scope, rough timeline and ballpark cost.

  2. 02

    A fixed-price plan

A written proposal with scope, milestones, a fixed price and a realistic timeline. No "from £X, contact us" pricing tricks.

  3. 03

    Design and build

We design in the browser, share progress as we go and ship in small chunks so you see real things working early. No three-month wait for a big reveal.

  4. 04

    Launch and handover

A proper launch, with documentation written for humans, accounts handed across and a checklist for the things you need to do.

  5. 05

    Ongoing maintenance

After launch we look after it on a monthly plan: hosting, updates, backups, security, small changes. No one to chase, no agency disappearing act.

§ 04Principles

How we think about building software.

The opinions that shape every project we take on, said out loud.

  • · 01

    We use boring, proven tech

Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Postgres, Firebase. The kind of stack any other developer can pick up if we ever get hit by a bus. No bespoke frameworks invented for the project.

  • · 02

    We own the maintenance

Most agencies build it, hand you the keys and disappear. We stay. The monthly maintenance plan exists so that we are still around in three years to fix the thing we built.

  • · 03

We help you scope what is worth building

Discovery is about working out what actually needs custom software versus what an off-the-shelf tool could do at a fraction of the cost. The point is to solve the problem in the leanest way possible.

  • · 04

One person, one quote, one bill

No project managers, account directors or hand-offs. You talk to the person doing the work. Quotes are fixed, invoices are simple, and there is no "this is out of scope" surprise.

§ 05Questions worth asking

Things small businesses ask before commissioning a build.

  • A.01

Sometimes. We look at the codebase first, the documentation, and what state it is in. If it is well-built and we can pick it up, yes. If it is a mess that would take longer to untangle than to rebuild, we will tell you that honestly.

  • A.02

We design and build. Figma mockups for anything substantial, and we design directly in the browser for smaller pieces. We are not a creative agency though, so if you need brand identity, illustration or photography, we will point you at people who do that properly.

  • A.03

A small brochure website is two to four weeks. A custom web app is six to twelve weeks. A mobile app is twelve to twenty weeks. We give you a realistic timeline in the proposal and we keep to it.

  • A.04

We are launching this side of the business fresh, so we are upfront: we do not have a long client portfolio yet. Our own products are what is currently live, this website included. If a portfolio is essential for you we understand and there are good Kent agencies with one. If you would rather work with someone who tells you the truth and quotes a fixed price, we are happy to talk.

  • A.05

An agency has account managers, project managers and the developer sat two layers away. Their costs are higher, their margins are higher, you pay for both. With us, you talk directly to the person doing the work, the price reflects that, and the project does not need a status meeting to move forward.

  • A.06

Kent, United Kingdom. We mostly work with small businesses across the county and the Medway towns. We are happy to work remotely with clients further afield too, especially for web apps and automations.

§ 06 · Get in touch

Got an idea? Tell us about it.

Email is fine, a phone call is fine, an unstructured ramble in a contact form is fine. We will write back the same working day with sensible next steps.
